Healthy Chicago 2.0 Launches

Public Health Institute of Metropolitan Chicago (PHIMC) joined the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) and 130 other groups on Tuesday, March 29, to launch Healthy Chicago 2.0, a new four-year plan to improve health and well-being throughout Chicago communities. You can view the plan here.

PHIMC congratulates CDPH and all the partners who worked to make this plan reality.  We are proud to collaborate with the city to improve health equity and ensure all residents have access to resources and opportunities to live healthy lives. PHIMC looks forward to implementing the Healthy Chicago 2.0 vision in collaboration with our myriad cross-sector stakeholders.

Even though we have made tremendous progress as a city over the past several decades, too many neighborhoods are being left behind. Healthy Chicago 2.0 provides 230 actionable strategies focusing on communities and neighborhoods facing the greatest health disparities. By working together, we will ensure health equity for every Chicago resident. As part of the plan, we are also focusing our efforts on addressing the root causes of poor health – including the built environment, education, housing and economic development. We are excited to join this effort.

To learn how you can get involved, join us at a series of community meetings in May. Working together we can make sure every Chicagoan has the opportunity to get and stay healthy!
